Eric Girerd

L'Atelier du Chocolat was recognized in 2013 by the New York Times as having one of the 10 best sea salt caramels in America and named the 2014 Top Ten Best Chocolatiers in North America by Dessert Professional Magazine.

Eric Girerd’s famous chocolates are made with the finest selected ingredients and artisan techniques. The chocolates vary in flavors are served as single pieces, in a four-piece box, a five-piece sleeve box, and a 30 piece box. Eric Girerd chocolates are haute couture, with a timeless style that feels both classic and contemporary.

Mr. Girerd, who previously served as Vice President of L’Academie Culinare de France, was awarded the 2013 Knight of Agricultural Merit.

Eric Girerd opened the first L’Atelier du Chocolat location in 2002 in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood. Per NY Magazine, “the retail nook grew out of the wholesale business longtime chocolatier Eric Girerd runs with his wife, supplying chocolates to Ritz-Carlton and W hotels.” In addition, he supplies truffles to Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, New York Palace, and Sofitel properties coast to coast.
